The Builder’s Expedition – Learning Steward
-
We are Singapore’s premier School of Applied Resilience. We take children (Ages 5-7) out of the classroom and into the wild to master collaborating on missions, thinking sharply under real conditions, and explaining their thinking clearly.
We are looking for a Learning Steward who understands that our goal is not to keep children "happy," but to help them become capable.
You’ll work alongside the Lead Learning Architect to help children stay safe, stay curious, and stay engaged as they navigate real terrain, real constraints, and real collaboration. You will be a mentor, a safety steward, and a documentarian of growth.
Location: Singapore Botanic Gardens
English Expedition: Every Friday*, 3:30PM to 6:30PM
Mandarin Expedition: Every Saturday*, 9:30AM to 12:30PM
Holiday Expedition: During school holidays.
*additional cohorts on other days may be available.Note: Consistency is vital. We require a commitment for the full Term to ensure stability for the children.
-
Paid onboarding + shadowing.
Clear session structure, safety protocols, and facilitation scripts.
You’ll never be thrown in without support — we value precision and psychological safety (for kids and staff).
-
You’re comfortable outdoors (heat, humidity, occasional mud, insects, uneven ground).
You can hold a calm centre when kids get dysregulated.
You can enforce boundaries warmly (firm + kind, not harsh).
You can communicate clearly with both children and parents.
You’re reliable, punctual, and professional (small groups depend on stability).
You’re open to coaching and feedback — we run a tight pedagogy and an even tighter safety culture.
-
Experience working with children aged 3–8 (education, enrichment, camps, coaching, childcare).
Familiarity with executive function, emotional regulation, or outdoor education.
Bilingual English–Mandarin (especially if supporting Mandarin-forward cohorts).
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to get certified).
Comfort facilitating reflection/journaling (even at a simple level).

The Builder’s Expedition – Learning Architect
-
The Resilient Builders runs micro-cohort outdoor expeditions where children learn to navigate real-world friction—through missions that blend science, engineering, teamwork, and communication.
As a Learning Architect, you are not “just facilitating.” You are the on-ground leader responsible for the learning arc, group orchestration, and safety judgment that makes an expedition feel both adventurous and expertly held.
This role is ideal for someone who can hold structure without killing wonder—someone who can keep 8 children engaged, safe, and learning even when variables change (weather shifts, materials fail, emotions spike, plans need to pivot).
